WiMAX Vision: Mformation bags WiMAX deal with UQ
Following on from its key MDM win with Xohm, the WiMAX business unit of Sprint Nextel, Mformation has announced another high profile mobile WiMAX customer: UQ Communications.
Based in Japan, UQ counts KDDI and Intel among its investors, and plans to commercially launch mobile WiMAX services at 2.5GHz in summer 2009.
"There is clear blue water between us and other companies who purport to do what we can do," claims Rob Dalgety, Mformation's commercial director.
Mformation's MDM platform, which has been extended to include WiMAX, ensures that WiMAX-capable devices can be remotely activated and provisioned irrespective of their source. The platform also complies with the OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) DM protocol.
