Mformation Announces Partnership with ASUS to Grow The Mobile Device Management Ecosystem

Relationship ensures interoperability between Mformation platforms and multiple mobile devices and computing devices built by ASUS

EDISON, New Jersey, USA – July 13, 2010 - Mformation® Technologies Inc., the leading provider of advanced mobile device management (MDM) solutions, today announced an interoperability partnership with ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated (ASUS). ASUS, a multinational corporation centered in Taiwan with 2009 revenues of US $21.2 billion, produces a wide range of own branded computer products, including motherboards, laptops, servers, mobile phones as well as components for other manufacturers, including Apple Inc., Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Garmin. It is consistently identified as one of the top companies in Asia and has won numerous awards — Business Week’s "InfoTech 100", Business Week’s "Asia’s Top 10 IT Companies" rankings, etc.

ASUS will use Mformation’s interoperability solution to pre-test Garmin-Asus mobile devices, ensuring conformance with industry standards and interoperability with the Mformation device management platform.

Alex Sun, Associated General Manager of ASUS’ Handheld Business Group commented: “Ensuring that devices can be remotely set up and managed is an absolutely critical task for any service provider. Creating a comprehensive program to ensure that our mobile and computing devices interoperate with Mformation’s advanced device management platform solves a critical need for our service-provider customers.”

Mformation has invested in the development of software tools to reduce time-to-market and acceptance costs for device manufacturers. Interoperability activity between Mformation and ASUS significantly reduces acceptance costs and time to market for service providers. The interoperability program includes:

  • A hosted server environment with dedicated access for ASUS
  • The ability to run a broad range of use cases/test cases for assessment of interoperability between services and devices
  • Full reporting and analysis of interoperability status for real-time certification status and progress across all devices being tested

Rowan Scranage, Mformation’s VP of Global Business Development and Corporate Strategy commented: “The device management ecosystem is growing rapidly. Working with ASUS is an important step toward ensuring that mobile and computing devices can be remotely managed cost effectively and that all makes and models entering the market can be supported automatically on any network. Interoperability is critical to ensure that devices work as expected when launched into a market. This need becomes more critical as the range of connected device types expands over time.”
