mFormation Successfully Tests Device Management Interoperability at Open Mobile Alliance’s Test Fest

EDISON, New Jersey - July 7, 2004 - mFormation® Technologies Inc., a leading provider of innovative wireless device management software, today announced successful participation in the latest round of interoperability testing at the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Test Fest held May 24-27, 2004 in Richardson, Texas, USA. mFormation successfully tested the mFormation SERVICE MANAGER™ server with OMA’s Device Management (DM) version 1.1.2 enabler test, establishing interoperability between the mFormation server and OMA DM clients from several major wireless data device and service vendors. mFormation’s software provides configuration management for all wireless devices supporting the OMA DM standard.

mFormation SERVICE MANAGER is a comprehensive suite of software products that provides over-the-air configuration of wireless device and service settings, remote device diagnostics and repair, real-time service quality and performance measurement, and enterprise self-care capabilities. The suite’s Configuration Manager module has long provided standards-based over-the-air configuration of wireless service settings such as email, WAP, MMS, and HTTP across the many devices that employ protocols based on OMA’s uni-directional Client Provisioning 1.1 standard. In this latest round of interoperability testing, bi-directional communication between the mFormation management server and device clients enabled standards-based querying of device information prior to configuring settings, remote configuration of settings on the devices, and active confirmation that the configuration settings were received correctly.

OMA’s test fests are designed to help OMA member companies develop and deploy fully interoperable products and services that accelerate end-user adoption of mobile devices and services.
