There is a broad array of wireless devices on the market today, ranging from low-end phones with basic functionality to smart phones and converged devices that support a wide range of services such as email, picture and video messaging, Internet access, entertainment and business applications. To realize the potential of new capabilities and services, these devices must be correctly configured at all times. Configuring phones can be a cumbersome and complicated task. New subscribers, new devices, changes to the services, roaming into another network or switching a SIM card are among the many things that can cause configurations to need setting or updating. In addition, almost two-thirds of devices require some sort of configuration after sale. Without over-the-air and automated configuration of the services on their devices, customers get frustrated and may switch operators, and new service adoption (and revenues) can slow.

GSM Configuration Manager enables operators to perform all tasks related to the provisioning and configuration of mobile devices. Support for configuring the settings of new data services as they come to market can be added dynamically. The product supports thousands of different mobile devices—from those using legacy proprietary protocols and OMA CP, to the latest OMA DM devices and smartphones—with support for hundreds of additional devices being added every quarter. A dedicated certification team ensures support for the latest devices as they come to market.
