CDMA Handset Provisioning
CDMA Handset Activation and Configuration Out of the Box
When a CDMA handset switches on, it should activate immediately. Unfortunately, provisioning and configuring CDMA handsets can be complicated, even though doing so at the time of activation is critical to the ongoing relationship between the operator and the customer. To avoid a frustrated customer at the start of a new relationship, it is critical to provision the customers’ devices immediately when they first start with a new operator.
The Mformation solution employs the Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA DM) standard for over-the-air configuration, enabling mobile operators to activate voice and data services on CDMA handsets out of the box. Operators can also use these solutions to activate, provision and update devices’ number assignments and preferred roaming lists over-the-air, as well as enabling advanced data services.
Out-of-the-box service activation and provisioning of CDMA handsets is simple with Mformation’s solution. Subscriber devices are activated and provisioned immediately and automatically when they are first turned on—no need for any interaction with customer care. Operators and subscribers alike benefit from this out-of-the box activation:
- Services work correctly the first time and every time
- Mobile operators realize the revenue potential of value-added data offerings
- Operators can build a flexible platform for delivering new CDMA services
CDMA handset activation is enabled by the CDMA Configuration Manager product, part of Mformation’s integrated MDM solution, MFORMATION SERVICE MANAGER™.
